This project consisted of the reconstruction of 1.6 miles of an existing eight-lane highway to eight general purpose and four express toll lanes separated by concrete traffic barriers. Also included was the realignment and widening of MD 43 from four to six lanes for 1.1 miles through the interchange, construction of three bridges, two flyover ramps, roadway grinding and resurfacing, full depth roadway replacement, storm drain improvements, box culvert extensions, retaining and noise walls, stormwater management facilities, landscaping, signage, pavement markings, lighting, traffic signals, toll gantries, and utility improvements/relocations.
