This design-build project provided 399,600 square feet of housing with 877 cells for 1,150 inmates, including separate pre-trial and sentenced, for both male and female inmates, in classifications ranging from minimum pre-release to maximum security management. Environmental issues, including preservation of endangered wildlife habitat, mandated a dense site plan and a high-rise solution. Three 6-story housing elements were built using factory pre-finished, precast concrete cells and other box modules. Program buildings are modular pre-engineered, two-story buildings for vocations and industry, warehouse, intake, visiting, recreation, pre-release, administration, and health and food services. A single secure pedestrian sallyport provides staff and visitors access to the secure facility.
