Project Description

This convention center, along with Yerba Buena Gardens, is a favorite destination for San Francisco visitors. Each day tourists enter the convention center to take part in the displays and events featured there.

The cornerstone of Yerba Buena Gardens, the convention center construction, included three tunnels under a major city street, which connect the expanded underground area to the existing center. In addition, the underground facility was designed for the future add-ons of two major cultural buildings and two large, landscaped public parks.

Regional acclaim includes the Gold Nugget Award of Merit, presented by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and cosponsored by Sun Coast Architect Builder magazine. The award was given in recognition of excellence and value for best public or private special use facility.
