Project Description

The project included the repair of exterior concrete walls and restoration of historic windows and doors at the former federal penitentiary on Alcatraz Island, a National Historic Landmark. The work included installation of cathodic protection to control corrosion from the harsh ocean environment and installation of reinforced steel for seismic protection of this popular tourist destination in San Francisco Bay. Removal of hazardous lead paint and patching of interior walls was also part of the scope.
