The arena renovation was a design-build, fast-track contract. The project included the complete gutting of the existing arena interior and increasing the seating from 15,025 to 19,200. Also included were 3,000 club seats, 72 luxury suites, press boxes and team concession facilities. The project required multiple crews to work around the clock to meet the very difficult schedule. Community relations were vital in employing local residents, who were needed in order to form the many construction crews and complete the project on time.
