Project Description

This 650,000-square-foot arena located in downtown San Jose is home to the NHL’s San Jose Sharks. The facility is constructed primarily of concrete with a space frame roof, ribbed stainless steel exterior, and features glass pyramids at both the front and back entrances. The tiered, dual-level, oval-shaped seating bowl holds 20,000 spectators for concerts and/or boxing matches, 19,400 for basketball, and 18,000 for hockey.

The facility consists of four levels. The first is the arena level, 17 feet below street grade, where all events take place and which houses the team’s facilities including locker rooms, offices and pressrooms. The second is street level, consisting of arena seating, a restaurant and private club for season ticket holders. The third level is the concourse, which houses the concession stands and 21 private luxury suites. The fourth level is the skybox, which is comprised of 54 suites equipped with full wet bars and television monitors accommodating up to 25 people.
