This project entailed the demolition and removal of a tunnel boring machine; several bridges; a substation structure; and catenary and signal power support structures. Associated with this demolition was the mitigation of contaminated and hazardous material. Included was the construction of retaining walls; bridges; ballasted track; foundations and steel structures for catenary support and signals; ductbanks; utilities; trackwork; switches; electrical work; snowmelter substation; and all related environmental, dewatering, relocation of utilities, and support of excavation and monitoring equipment for same.

The work included two retaining walls, 740-foot cut and cover tunnel for Track D approach structure, one-half mile of trough installation, demolition and replacement of 48^th St Rail Bridge, track and switch installation, and secant piles for support of the below-ground rail lines.
