This portion of the East Side Access program involved structural concrete lining of tunnels, escalator pits, access tunnels and arches covering four caverns, one ventilation facility, and eight cross passages. It also included a four-mile tunnel over 100 feet below Madison Avenue where over 50,000 feet of underground raceway, signal and communication trough, and grounding systems for future follow-up contracts were installed.
